High-intensity discharge lighting

Sodium lamps are technology.

Post your sodes, mercury lamps, metal halides, neon glow lamps, etc.

i miss photonicinduction

he did come back for a bit last year tho

VGH how come this sovl thread is so underrated

why wont they just use warm white LEDs

why are they replacing the cozy yellowish HPS with fucking cool white LEDs

reeeeeee

For me it's Krypton

But I also like Hydrogen and Mercury

where can I buy a bong like that

boomers. i get in arguements way more than makes reasonable sense over cool white vs warm leds.

I guess the improved colour rendering is a more obvious benefit compared to blue light being harsh on the eyes or messing with circadian cycles or whatnot.

Also this might be a bit of a stretch, but I see it as another way of justifying the expenses of switching to LED to the layman - they might question the need if it looks exactly the same, but when they can actually SEE the difference they might go "oh okay it must be better then".

One would assume that it's the boomers who would be nostalgic for amber lights.

>nothin personnel, kid

I have HPS and metal halide I used to use for growing.
I detest those damned bulbs

>tfw accidentally triggered my gf's photophobia with my SOX lamp

where can i buy something neat like this cheap

is your best bet

I used 600w hps for growing weed for 10 years. Just switching to LED's now

That wouldn't help much, the lamp would still be piercing bright with no diffusion. Gotta solve those too.

bump

Sodium lamps produce monochromatic light, no LED on this planet can reproduce that, no matter how "warm" they are. The monochromatic effect is what makes the contrast so extreme and thus gives it this awesome safety effect on the street.
>b...b...but the color accuracy is better with LEDs
>Sorry inspector, I didn't see the kid behind the parked car but the moment I hit him, he looked very color accurate

>Sodium lamps produce monochromatic light
Only SOX
Most sodium lamps are HPS which do have some color
