The power of money

Because it's better, familiar, has backward compatibility right down to the binary driver level, and has actual support.

>be ibm
>need OS for new PC products
>ms tells ibm to go to some retard who has an OS that can work
>retard is retarded and does not treat IBM with the respect they deserved
>ms buys OS from retard for little money
>all ibm pcs run OS
>OS is msdos now and all pc knock offs start shipping with it or are at least compatible
>ibm seethes msdos is on competitors pcs
>ibm sues but loses or gives up i dont remember
>ms makes stupid money becomes rich
>retard who sold OS is sad and wife leaves him for being retarded
>retard commits suicide
>ms embraces, extends and extinguishes competition
>ms pushes his shitty OS now called windows to other companies with the threat of destroying them if they don't give in
>ms now extremely powerful
>all devs must target windows or else they sell no software
>monopoly
>people tired of windows but all legacy stuff runs on it
>keep supporting it because legacy
>keep developing for it because you're already supporting it
>the world is less free
>an unlikely savior rises from obscurity
>with autistic elegance he charms populations into joining his movement
>RMS promises a world of free software
>linus makes Linux and it actually works
>world tries to free from windows but too much legacy
>the end
>the end?

GPT

The Unix philosophy is copyright of files.
Windows assigns copyrights just like unix.
Not so with templeos, there is no copyright.

>facts are gpt now
That's why I have a job, a house and a family - and you have the tendies your mom can afford selling her ass to hood rats on frequent user discount.

Microsoft did all kinds of things to take control of the home computer market. AT&T gave the source code for unix to universities so when students learned about operating systems it was usually unix from the late 70s to 90s.

except it's not
spotted the windows user

GPT is posting generic linux bad stuff when it's not even in question.

>it's not
Name other widely used non-unix like os
>inb4 some obscure shit most people don't even know has an os in it

>RMS promises a world of free software
>linus makes Linux and it actually works
but well into the 90s unix and related OSes were reigning the professional market in academia, servers, and still widespread mainframes

uhh retard everyone uses mac os???

Mac os is based on FreeBSD. It's unix like.

mac has been unix-like for about 21 years

uhh I don't think so I have an Apple computer not one of these Linuxes

My intelligence lowered when I read this

better than what?
unix?

dickheads father is corporate lawyer. dickhead didn't have to do anything. dickhead was litigated for/against in the new field. dickhead got power. dickheaad didn't have to program anything real. it wasn't even the maintainable model of the gui that xerox created. it implemented nothing. to this day it is a huge issue. the complication, the block. you cannot build onto it.

>has backward compatibility right down to the binary driver level
Then why can't I use an old sound card from the late 90s on modern Windows?

forgot the part where daddy was a lawyer but was that the killer blow?

because when we say backwards compatibility we really mean 2 big numbered versions back, plus a few hacks for you to sorta figure out an additional version back
