Have you tried enabling subpixel rendering and full hinting in GNOME tweaks?

Yes. Didn't help.
Why is ubuntu's font rendering god tier by default and other distros completely ignore it?

With both installed font rendering is identical to what you would see on Ubuntu LTS 18.04. Works nicely.

Install better_fonts copr repo.

why do people care so much about fonts
I just use whatever the OS has by default and everything looks fine, what's the big deal?

autism

>.t never have seen a good font rendering in their lives.

OpenBSD has great font rendering out of box.

everyone just uses freetype, including cuck oses
fontards are the exact same here as audiopedophiles, easily impressible and retarded folk

Canonical's freetype2 patches massively improve readability. Probably the best font rendering of any desktop OS.

Can anyone show the differences

Which patches?

See these packages and the spec files within the build directories:

Bitmap fonts never had this problem.
Why did we have to fuck it up?

Doesn't load for me. Oh well.
I was just interested because I generally like the Ubuntu font, but it seems like the "patches" are just configuration changes and change nothing about how the freetype renderer works.

>why do people care so much about fonts
Makes a huge difference in readability.

Anyways, the solution is to go 4K.
All problems with poor font rendering are caused by not having enough pixels.

you don't. Fedora is unironically trash

They have a CEO, See e o
