Decentraleyes, Dark reader, Privacy Badger and Arkenfox's user.js is what I have on mine. You get used to the letterboxing fast and the only other bad default on Arkenfox's imo is that your search bar doesn't actually search, but that's one command away.

ublock "advanced" mode is fucking garbage. Umatrix is what an actually advanced mode should look like, and it's still not granular enough for my tastes.
Gorhill is a fucking retard for abandoning Umatrix because "he doesn't have time to maintain both" when he is in fact maintaining an inferior version of it inside ublock.

I can't imagine using a browser without these anymore. If you're european "I don't care about cookies" is a huge timesaver with cookie autodelete and proper uBlock Origin filters.

I imagine that would be his point. He simply did not feel the need to have something as fine grained as uMatrix, so he simplified it and pulled it into uBO.
That nobody has bothered to continue development of uMatrix says there's not much demand for it.
