Linux and Digital Art

What does Any Forums think about Linux's abilities in this area? I've personally been using Linux for artwork for years now, and I've become very comfortable in the environment. Even without the big name proprietary tools, I haven't felt limited in what I could do with my computer when it comes to making images. As well, I've found programs like Feh and Nomacs to be fantastic when I need to view a page of reference on my second monitor.

Krita is pretty cool.

can you show us some work?

iPad is better

Photoshop pirated on a custom windows with keyloggers is the ultimate way to make furry and loli porn

Is gimp quick once learned? Only really after basic stuff, but as a photoshop baby stuff I can do there in 20 seconds is proving very difficult to do in gimp.

cant do pentablet driver hacking on ipad. only reason to get one is for comfy form factor compared to e.g a thinkpad tablet. also since op said digital art and not 2d art theres also the fact you wont be doing any /3/ stuff on ipad

been doing fine with just krita, gimp and blender on linux
if i needed another program i just use a windows vm, it doesn't bother me
i swear i've seen some 3d programs for ios before but they probably cook the poor ipad trying to run it

For drawing keita is fine.
It cant do watercolors the same way as clipart studio but thats about it.

You can set shortcut keys in GIMP, so you can definitely speed your work up as you learn the program. As always, it seems GIMP's learning curve is its greatest enemy.

Kiki is a CUTE!!!!!

All as always: you need to pay a lot to find compatible hardware or just buy the most expensive wacom ones. And then you get half-way broken features and pen pressure that stops working randomly.
Now with the retardation that pushes Wayland all the way you need to waste even more time to make it working properly.

Linux has no alternatives to Paint Tool SAI.

i ran sai in wine for several years and it worked fine. sai2 was a little bitch though.
as for tablets, huion drivers seem to work in the sense i get pen pressure. i don't know about other features on it to really comment but i guess if that works it's probably ok?

>tfw can't draw but always wanted to
>tfw feel like I will never be able to get on this level/style

I always enjoyed the MGS art. Same with Castlevania Symphony of the Night.

tell me more about sai2. Is the only program stopping me from going full mint as start

does the recovery funtion work or well.. everything else?

Krita is nice but gimp is just a gimped photoshop

Imagemagick is a god tier. Even if it had nothing else that would be enough

Based digital bug chaser, I too deliberately infect my families devices with pajeeted malware, it's so hot when I see them lose money when they could just redeem it.

someone draw this funky creature getting railed

I understand. Even bought an entry level drawing tablet. Absolutely broken hands as it seems or just too old.

I use (x)ubuntu, use Krita daily, and draw pokemon with tits. It's taken some getting used to, but I've been doing this for years now. I don't fucking touch gimp though, horrible software.
