Alcohol will "dry" the zit and you can easily remove it with little pain.
Or, like some have wrote scrape it out and webm the whole thing and become a 30 second hero as you sit on the floor crying.

I don't have a razor readily available because I'm not some emo fag. But I did consider trying something else. I have an eyebrow shaping tool that may work but then I'd never want to use it on my face again.

You sterilize the needle because having one type of bacteria in the area(the pimple itself) is bad enough, adding another to exacerbate the infection is just a bad idea. That is what you risk with an unsterilized needle.
