Simple observation
yes america you fucked yourself good.
If there was more acceptance of sharing rides, that would be great. Even something like a notification system on your phone. Smart phones are currently not used well for these kinds of ideas.
> Jobn user is leaving one block away to go to the store. This was in your calendar today. Do you want him to stop and take you?

(Just an example anyway)
no. busses, trains, trams and metros is the only way forward. The rest of the world already know this.
After refrigeration and antibiotics, the automobile might have been the greatest invention of the past 200 years.
But some socialist poorfags like OP can't afford them and so have to bitch about everyone else who can.
You forgot cycling.
true. I did forget cycling. And I even live in a place where cycling is the norm
When i realized flying cars from the Jetsons will never happen.
>in the same pig shed you were conceived in
ooof.... he's dead jim
based and redpilled op
I have faith that Elon will get it done.
I guess I've always known it, I'm 45 and never had a car or even a driver's licence...
I'm 43 and haven't had fewer than 2 cars since I was 19. But then, I'm an American who has exclusively lived in suburbs or rural areas and am not poor.
>exclusively lived in suburbs
My condolences.
I'm not poor, not obese, and I have 2 working legs thanks to healthcare.
No, OP you fuckin idiot, the car is merely a symptom.
The worst creation of the past 200 years is the office block.
Look at the past 2 years, commuting dropped to almost zero at several points in the last 24 months.
Air got cleaner and global temperatures started to show signs of dropping.
Why? Because we took away the huge amounts of heat generated in cities all around the world.
Pollution dropped too. And you can't blame all that heat and air pollution on the car. The commute lasts 2 hours max either end of an 8 hour work day, in those 8 hours cars are parked up. Sure there were still those who drive for a living out there doing what they do, but that made a tiny impact on the over all cooling of our cities.
It was proven office wankers could and should stay the fuck at home and work from there. But, we reverted back to the old way all too quickly, for some reason we missed sitting bumper to bumper for miles on end wasting fuel and more importantly the money we worked so fucking hard for.
So no, the car is not the worst invention of the past 200 years, office wankers are.
Suburbs in Connecticut don't look like that. You might see 1/100th of that - a couple of streets, maybe - but then the monotony and uniformity is broken by either natural geography or business districts. And lots of Connecticut suburbs were individually constructed houses over a period of sometimes 200 years or more, not something that all sprang up at once by a single developer.
