I tried read the first volume of the phenomenology at 17 and it was the hardest work I had ever read. There was so much culture needed to understand what he meant on top of the complexity that it took me 2 days to read a new page since I re-read from the beginning after every page.
Other works of Hegel are much simpler to understand.
