>Spend years studying different exploits and becoming the world's greatest hacker.
>Tricking dumb normies into installing malware is still more effective than any of that stuff.
Is cyber-security a meme?
Spend years studying different exploits and becoming the world's greatest hacker
Dave doesn't have root / administrator access. Nice try.
just don't let the normies install anything or run anything from the internet
keep them in their dedicated applications or sites
not a thing on windows
Unpatched exploits because your updates lag half a year behind so microsoft wont fuck up with kyocera drivers again
Why can't the securty staff educate people form other brances?
I hate people like you
>Is cyber-security a meme?
yes. it's for criminal losers and stalkers.
t. Dave from finance
more like someone forgets to patch a db in the cloud. Good thing we make all employees connect through a slow shitty windows vm with no admin permissions that resets itself suddenly once per day though that sure keeps things secure
>Implying you need admin access when all systems are at least a year out of date
Less a meme, more a ineffectual marketing grift made of annoyances and interruptions, and amplified by autists with anxiety disorders.
>this guy told us as much
>whitelist network setup, only specific websites work
>firewall active on everything but minimal http and https
>application firewall atop that to exclude access to everything but the browser
>disabled 70 percent of services in msconfig
>why yes i did disable microsoft games and even deleted the 3 midi files you could find in c://windows/media
you are here to work
now excuse me while i use this freetime created by reducing problem tickets to near zero to play switch in my office
I think that largely yes. Many "vulnerabilities" are so esoteric that no one will actually use them in practice, when the human is likely a much weaker link. But there are sometimes some actually severy vulnerabilities.
Also some coprporate securitards are retarted. They are always looking for some fancy expensive technical solutions when some common sense would be more applicable.
>firewall active on everything but minimal http and https
IMAP, you faggot. God, I fucking hate sysadmins like you, who feel like they're kingshit, focing me to run an OpenVPN connection through 443 to escape your faggotry.
you can't patch retards
Because the people from other branches don't care.
no but you can do defense in depth so that a compromised workplace doesn't pwn your entire company
it's time to stop listening to retards who want AD and SSO and retarded shit like that
>linux lack dedicated normietardwrangler IT software
>macos and windows has normietardwrangler IT software
>freetards: why rnt dey usign desktop linux its year od desktop linxu guise
Cybersecurity is about the correct enforcement of policies that ensure the Integrity, Availability and Confidentiality of information.
Cybersecurity encompasses a Technical, Tactical and Administrative aspect.
I miss that life.
>find program that asks for UAC on run but is still writable by normal users
>inject virus code
>admin runs it
>it asks for UAC
>????
>profit
