Honestly not that bad, if you stop drinking now that can be totally reversed. However, keep going and the likelihood of cirrhosis increases over next 10yrs

Were there any other labs done? Like GGT? And were you fasting when the specimen was taken?
Have you been honest about your drinking with your doctors? It seems strange that they would diagnose you with non-alcoholic fatty liver when you're a nightly heavy drinker. I would think they'd order an ethanol level too.
Luis Thomas
no i was not fasting, i had a ac1 done no diabetes, GGT... dr explained the reason for a NAFLD diagnosis, he said he believe its a combination of the two... alcohol and being overweight
Anthony Robinson
OK, well getting rid of sugar should help a lot with that, a high sugar /high carb diet is a big reason why people are so fat these days.
Jeremiah Reed
yeah i have lost a ton of weight, at my last physical dr said if he re-imaged my liver despite still drinking that it would be in better shape
kind of skeptical about that and wondering if he is a quack
Medfag here. What exactly is your question? "how fucked are you" - You've already been told by your Dr but I can sum it up for you: You've put in a lot of effort into damaging your liver and it's trying to keep you alive still. If you heavily reduce drinking then your liver is still in a condition where it can "recover" and at least function for a long time. If you don't, your liver condition will continue to deteriorate until you develop cirrhosis, at which point you will start collecting fluid in your abdominal cavity (called ascites) that will need to be periodically drained. At this point, your liver is really too shot to get you through another 5 years even if you stop drinking, but most people that reach this point can't give up the drink and they'll put themselves in the ground in 1-2 years.
By the way, it's a really shitty, painful, and often times shame filled way to die, so maybe get your shit together and stop killing yourself

Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition in which excess fat builds up in your liver. This buildup of fat is not caused by heavy alcohol use. When heavy alcohol use causes fat to build up in the liver, this condition is called alcohol-associated liver disease.
you can tell just by the info i gave you that "its too shot" maybe i should get a fibroscan or biopsy done?
Gavin Allen
Your liver CAN recover, but you have to make consistent and long lasting changes to your lifestyle. Seriously, if you don't, it's a rough way downhill and I don't like seeing people go that way, so exercise more, avoid fatty foods, and ABOVE ALL stop drinking so much. 3-4 drinks a week maximum.
Matthew Lewis
Bruh, that blood glucose is way too high. You've got diabetes, bro. Let's hope it's type 2 and you can fix it. My faggot ass has type 1. Sadface.
Carson Price
i wasnt fasting... had a ac1 done and it was normal
Eli Williams
Concur, it's definitely advanced ligma.
Jacob Hughes
It could always be worse, at least you're not a nigger.
Just quit drinking and start eating healthier and your liver will recover in 1-2 years.
Evan Rodriguez
Same guy. Stop focusing so much on medical intervention in your approach this. Almost any Dr you talk to is going to advocate lifestyle changes before anything else, and medical intervention as a last resort. All in all, medicine is actually pretty shitty at fixing this kind of stuff. The lifestyle is what's causing it, and is what needs to get fixed.
Carson Sanchez
i meant as in fibroscan or biopsy to stage how much fibrosis my liver really has, because i know an ultrasound can only see the surface not inside
