Why is the GAE media coping so hard over Russia and China's hypersonic missiles? Doesn't the Pentagon usually jump at any chance to beg for an even bigger budget?

If we can't keep up with their military tech, despite having 10 times their military budget, then the people managing the allocation of funds need to be round up and shot and the military needs to be put under a full, extensive, audit.
Period.

>Why is the GAE media coping so hard over Russia and China's hypersonic missiles?
I'd believe something like this coming out of China, but Russia? Nah, they're trying really really hard to salvage their "big, tough, and scary" reputation

Because commies beat us to the punch, and prior hypersonic tests have failed. They already have funding, they just couldn't get their airframes not to disintegrate mid-flight.

They're just going to turn around and tell you that their attempts at auditing themselves failed and hand you a bill for doing a failed audit, just like they did last time, and you can't do anything about it because you don't have fighter jets and nukes.

No one has really seen anything like this from America because we haven't used them or need to use them yet. Trust me It's like hammer tech vs stark tech. What they have is nothing compared to what we have in stored.

This. Russia can't even manage the logistics of a fucking tank column, there's no way they can manage the precision engineering (which, very very critically MUST be consistent) required for bleeding edge tech.

Remember, most people can easily enough Google how to build a nuclear reactor. But exactly how you get the materials and tools and controls you need to achieve that is where the fantasy of being able to actually achieve it stops.

That's why they've only fired 2 missiles and not 2000 like the US would. It takes fucking weeks to manually check every part and get it right.

How do you maintain your security clearance while hanging out on a pedo site

When I did my vetting I told them I come and unload on /b from time to time. They asked for samples of the shit I write. They still cleared me. Go figure haha.

Because they're equivalent to Germany wunderwaffen from WW2 - tactically irrelevant.

They probably added a note to your file that you could be an easy fit with our homegrown b8posting division

Yup. I remember I saw a video a few years back of a military parade in Moscow where they were showcasing a new cutting edge tank that was supposed to revolutionize the way Russia fought its wars and whatnot but once the cameras were off that same tank broke down at this parade. I imagine that these hypersonic missiles may be nothing more than a concept for Russia that is only meant to make the West nervous, like the Strategic Defense Initiative with Reagan.

I dont get why it is a problem that they are using fast missiles - kind of makes sense that they would if they could?

Haha there's a good chance if I fuck it up and go broke, I will go apply at asio

Hypersonic missiles are bullshit in the Russian context. They don't matter for shit because Russia already has plenty of end of the world weapons. They give Russia no advantage.
China is a bit of a different story only from the extent to which hypersonic weapons may make it easier to destroy American aircraft carriers.
Otherwise this issue is bullshit.
Also, Russian hypersonic missiles are shit too anyway. Big waste of money versus conventional cruise missiles.

>Doesn't the Pentagon usually jump at any chance to beg for an even bigger budget?
I'd be more surprised if it didn't. Right now we've got the same shitshow occurring in Australia.

Most of our "budgets", go straight into 1%er pockets.

>Also, Russian hypersonic missiles are shit too anyway. Big waste of money versus conventional cruise missiles.
Russia not only has both, but their cruise missiles are better than ours.
Every USA cruise missile is SUBSONIC. Russia's Kalibr is the next generation, capable of subsonic, low or high supersonic (Mach 2 or 2.8).
America is way behind on missiles because we still believe in the fighter jet doctrine which is why we sunk $1,000,000,000,000 into fighter jets which would have little real value in a modern war.

Duno about that one, user.

Don't forget the nuclear cruise missile that can fly around for WEEKS at ungodly altitudes until it is timed to hit its target, so it can do coordinated strikes

I don't see getting anything done with exclusively cruise missiles. Ability to hold areas and have air superiority are more important than just blowing stuff up. If the only goal is just to fuck the enemy in the mouth, maybe.
