There are LOTS of things that will eat plywood. A large number of bugs will eat it, large herbivores will chew on it to aid digestion, and there are countless microbes that will thrive by breaking down the cell walls if it remains wet for too long. That's why we treat lumber with heat and various chemicals. To make it less appealing to things that like to eat it
