We all know it's not as easy as he says, but the truth of the matter is that, if your grid is heavily supplied by renewables, there's going to be far less of a translation from petrol to electricity in the pipeline. Telling people to buy an electric car as if it's that easy, though, is dumb - it's not exactly a quick return on investment.
