this picture is from the 1994 battle of grozny. the carcass is just a human after the animals got to him... a very common occurrence whenever a carcass remains.
actually, what is more common is the carcass it completely consumed by scavengers and insects and nothing is found (other than a few shards of bone). it is kind of rare for this much bone (and meat) to remain, suggesting whatever was eating him didn't get a chance to finish the job, probably because humans re-entered the area (probably looking to pick up their dead).
