HP Dev One

I'm looking to buy a new laptop. What are your thoughts on the HP Dev One? Other candidates are the System76 Lemur Pro, StarLabs StarBook Mk V, and Apple MacBook Air M2. From what research I've done, the Dev One seems like a compelling machine. I just want to hear what your guys' opinion is on it, or if I should consider something else entirely.

>ddr4 memory in 2022
>poozen 7
>not even qhd, no hdr
>pop os
>they want a grand for this
no

hueg bezel
trackpad not centered
nipple is a meme
right side function keys suck

Get a used dell latitude 5490

It's a pretty great deal considering what you get. Most laptops in that range are much worse.

>first major OEM to collab with a Linux computer company
>16 thread AMD Ryzen CPU
>screen is 1000 knits
>speakers are great
>glass touchpad
>good keyboard tactile feedback
>RAM, SSD, Wi-Fi card are all user upgradeable
For some people, this will be a dream machine.

It's actually really competitive for the price plus no winblows. Not to mention that 1,000 knit brightness.

You mean the 5491 with 6 core CPU

>offset trackpad
it's a no from me dawg

Screen has a fuckload of glare. Specs are ok for the price, but if you get one wipe that poop os off your hard drive and slap your distro of choice on it.

Looks super good too bad it isnt available in eu.
Would like to buy one.

>16:9 screen in 2022
Either way isn't this just a rebadged probook? Probably cheaper to just get that and option it without windows.

$1099 for 8 cores and 16gb?
Why not i think ill
>for us customers only
Oh

In 6/7 months it'll be on the bay for half the price, also:
>has nipple but no middle/scroll button
Call me when this joke of a company will do one thing right

>NoOo MUH HECKIN HDR
Kys

92% of/g users are salivating but are poorfags, hence are seething

That's an amazing deal at that price point.
I'm considering buying one.

It's kinda a rebadged Elitebook, except the HP logo is the inferior version, the aluminum is tinted a darker color, the Windows key missing, the speaker grills lack the zigzag pattern, and there is a glass in front of the screen which the EliteBook doesn't have

who gets a laptop for the build quality. You should throw your electronics to the trash after 4 years anyways.

trackpad is centered to the spacebar, as it should be

Been reading that many who got it think the screen is way too glossy, so I dumbed the idea of getting one.

>after all these years thinklight isn't back
it's a good laptop, but nothing will compare to an upgraded T/W530
