I know you don't actually care or even pretend to be informed on this subject, but i'll state what many have stated over and over again to no avail. The problem isn't the fact that they are taking stands against hate speech, it is the confusion around what constitues hate speech, misinformation etc.
Depending on who you ask, these phrases mean vastly different things, and all online social platforms get their beliefs from a radical leftwing standpoint.
Is being against maks mandates misinformation? Is Being against illegal immigration hate speech?
Good thing we have our very unbiased coorporate overlords to decide which opinions are against the dogma and to protect the gullible populace from dangerous misinformation (anything that goes against the left wing narrative)

The major problem with regulating "hate speech" online is that a single moderator, often someone in another country, gets to decide what things are banned. The real danger is that facts and first-hand accounts are being suppressed. Before the US elections, Youtube banned the account of a citizen journalist who was filming BLM protests and riots. He would upload the videos without commentary or editing. Hundreds of major news networks would use his footage in their reports. Youtube banned him for violating "terms and services" with zero explanation and no way to appeal his ban. His footage had the the potential to sway elections and change political opinion that could have had a major impact in US policy. And one moderator with zero oversight had the ability to silence him. That's a very dangerous thing,
