Why are there weebs in my Nix thread?
Anybody done any gaming and/or mining on NixOS. I switched my laptop, and also kinda want to also switch my desktop now that I can easily replicate my build to my desktop.
I don't want steam on my laptop tho, but still use same config. So do I just use nix-env on the desktop to get steam, but keep everything else the same?

write a nix module that gets only loaded when the hostname matches the one of your desktop

I'm using this with encryption for my stateful partitions. Works great.
Steam just works on Nvidia drivers.

just learned you can program the .nix config files. This distro gets more and more amazing the more I learn. I just thought it was an object with imports. but you can program the damn thing. I am impressed

installed it on my desktop last week. I always said it's the only distro I'd concider switching to after finding void (void still stays in my laptop tho). I had a blast, it's so fucking easy to configure.

it will handle the systemd units for you
it's the most painless system I've ever used. Fedora kinonite/silverblue wishes it was this easy to use.
