I like Marnie a lot too, but that's mostly her design. Lillie is a beauty, but what attracted me to her was her character, her story, and her development throughout the game.
Women have feelings. I think I figured out something. I think the women that rejected me or blew me off when I asked them out DID like me, there was just..... an issue that made me undateable/non marriage/bf material, so they couldn't bring themselves to be with me.
I dont hate women. Everyone has standards. I dont meet decent women's, and I'll pick waifu/fantasy over a woman I dont care for but go with anyway out of desperation. It's easy when you refuse to have kids. Piss poor genetics have made me miserable and unhappy, so despite my craving for a family, I'm doing the moral and good thing and removing myself from the gene pool.

I dont know if Lillie and Ash travel together later, but where I'm at, the Alola gang are classmates. They havent done a WHOLE lot of travelling, aside from the Nebby arc. But based on the DVD titles, Ash might be starting his travels later on.

With anime, it's someone else's story. The MC is a blank slate, silent exceptnfor dialogue options, so it seems more personal.
