Is this still a perfectly usable computer for normal day to day use excluding vidya?

Looks good to me, do modern ipads even have dual cores?

Yes if you install Linux on it

that thing is going to stop getting security updates within 3 years tops. get a used windows machine or try to save up for an M2 air

$240 is good for 3 years then life as a home server or media player or some bullshit

beautiful good looking sur
for the same price you could get a beefed up x/t 20/30 that would last you 10 years with replacable parts

Yeah I used a mid 2012

Mac OS will never officially support these old laptops again and you have to gut the OS after forcing it to install or just run linux. And if you buy a new ARM mac, you're getting the linux noprograms and buggy emulators experience with a more consistent icon theme and nicer rounded corners.

the latest pro and air both have the original M1 chip now, so yes.

I still use my old MacBook Pro 2014 to this day, runs pretty good but I downgraded to Mojave because Catalina and Big Sur ran a bit like ass and I just hate the fucking iOS-ification of computer OS.
I think I'm no retard and am careful enough on the internet not to get malware, but should I be really worried about the lack of security updates? Is it actually viable to get rid of MacOS and install some Linux on it?

>128GB
Nope, total trash (unless you can upgrade it)

Depends on the specs. Some of the older GPUs don't play very nice with Linux. You can definitely give it a try though, and iirc boot camp still provides the drivers if you want to run Windows

Intel Iris 1536 MB. I know about Bootcamp and I tried Windows through it, ran pretty great, but I just refuse to use fucking Windows, it's enough for me to use that shit at work.
I'll look more into the Linux options, but maybe I shouldn't really mess with something that isn't broken.

yes
but only if you install Windows on it

daily drive thing mf, basically same thing, except mac has a double intel hd graphics (iris). Memory subsystem sucks (intel laptop.....), other than that its great

as you can see there is a yuzu folder, metroid dread works perfectly, pokemon arceus is like 23 fps in the wild, but i liked it anyway xB, interpolation and anime4k is amazing on it, 4k tv included, but with a basic scaling

Anonymous you can’t just post top shelf bunnygirl ass and not include the source.
