redpill me on neovim, is it the new meme or is a solid terminal editor? rust-based packages like neovide make it sound appealing

neovim is ripe for a rust rewrite

no redpill for you but listen
i use neovim because it has clipboard support, vim doesn't have this feature

bump

I dont know why people keep talking about emacs org mode whenneovim has it too

I'm a younger developer who still does not know the differences between them

This but with zig

it does, you are just too retarded to use it

do you want to keep your job? use vscode
do you want to get fired? use vim/neovim

t. never had a job

lua

Why don't you try to understand the org-mode ecosystem first. You think neovim has org-mode, but what it has is just scratching the surface.

It has been done already. Helix Text Editor.

>vscode is too resource intensive and editing takes forever
>(neo)vim is too barebones ootb and requires you to deal with how retards document their plugins

is there a middle ground bros? a text editor with vim keybindings + reasonable defaults?

i just want to get out of .config hell and work happily ever after ):

VSCode is not that resource intensive. Just use vscodium + vim bindings.

"+p or "+y copies/pastes to clipboard

do you use that?

idk I us emacs

You might wanna check out kakoune, vis, Lapse (more VScode-y) and helix. They all have way better defaults

Yeah, you get shortcuts from vim + stuff from vs code when you're in insert mode + getting ide features without much optimization. I highly recommend.

Look, programmers exist to produce bussiness value. That's what you do, that's why you're employer is hiring you. Don't spend too much time in configuration hell, just use vscodium + vim bindings. You'll never need more for most things.

i can't find lapse
