no

what if I don't care that they know which IP addresses I visit

Ok for me, next time you go to the bathroom, keep the door open. You don't care what they see don't you?

bad analogy, HTTPS is like a door, they know you're in there but can't see what you're doing
also, rec reading
madaidans-insecurities.github.io/vpns.html

>https: going into a stall in a public bathroom
>vpn: going into a private bathroom

>tor: going into a secret hall that nobody knows leads to a bathroom

Ok analogy was bit sketchy, but your impression of https/vpn is of the charts. If you want 'privacy' start by protecting your dns queries> neither vpn nore https protect those

I fucking hate frogposters

VPN totally protects DNS queries unless you have a leak, and HTTPS can be applied to DNS via DoH or DoT, so... what now?

vpn transfers your dns queries to your vpn provider.. ok if you trust them I guess. Most vpn providers are not to be trusted

I like using Brave browser. What is the best way to protect my DNS queries on here

Yes VPNs are usuless, but HTTPS isn't the only internet protocol that exist. retard.

Enable DoH in security settings and select a decent provider like NextDNS

this really makes me think

No, whoever told you this is an idiot.

see >VPNs give nearly no security benefit, as over 95% of websites that people actually use already support HTTPS, which encrypts your connection. VPNs will only ever give a security benefit when you're browsing a site lacking HTTPS, which is rare.

only for some specific use-cases

when you say VPN, do you mean an actual VPN, or the youtube sponsor definition which is just an internet proxy?

Security is not privacy, idiot

not sure how I'm supposed to use https to bypass the firewall at work. https proxies don't really work since the whole point of https is to ensure you're not receiving something someone in the middle tampered with, which is exactly what a proxy is, a tampered middle.

a vpn provides me with a tunnel out of the firewall and I'm still using https.

that and the bathroom is wiretapped by glowniggers

Isn't tor supposed to be private from nsa?
