Western transgender internet forums are psychological operations that are sponsored by both foreign and domestic government-backed actors. Although they are a very small minority of the population in the Western world, they are an overtly vocal one. I envision 28 years from now by 2050, when modern technologies and medicines can accommodate for a fully fledged transition--or even an artifical "third" gender--we will see an dramatic cultural shift among Western countries and their attitudes towards the LGBT community. Twenty-eight years is a lot of time; the rate of technological advancement is exponential and works in conjunction with Moore's law. Commercialized genetic engineering, advancements in pharmacology, quantum computing, advancements/experimentations in transgenderism/genderfluidity, and massive quality of life improvements for inhabitants in first world countries are all on the horizon. There is a direct correlation with the rate of technological advancement within a society and the percentage of people that are not heterosexual or identify with the traditional gender.
Back to my first sentence; think about this in terms of surveillance capitalism. That's a buzzword, but let me explain what it is. Surveillance capitalism is a term coined by Harvard social sciences professor Shoshana Zuboff and it describes the commodification of the massive amounts of data people generate by merely being online. It is my belief that this data is used by government-backed actors to target the mentally ill in order to make them transgender. Big data allows for these actors to easily quantify your average Gen Z or Gen A's level of neuroticism and throw a bunch of tranny ads to them and see how they react. Honestly, I think this is inevitable. Technological advancements allow for humans to push boundaries as much as they want; and I think phenomena demonstrates that theory perfectly.
