Lets put that aside and think for a second about your life there even if you did live. you would be in horrible cold and have a huge lack of supplies. your daily life would be misery, plain and simple. you would feel at times that you wish you would just be killed in a fight, and you will receive none of the benefits that an american soldier would for doing it

Western fighting strategy is technological and has developed into standing back at a safe distance and flinging bigger and bigger bombs until the other side capitulates. In a boxing match, the West are the sluggers. However, the east never gave up their traditional tactics from the old days when they were horse tribes on the Russian steppe. They are the sparrers, the tacticians. They’ll ride up alongside you, fuck with you and maybe get a little jab or slice in, retreat, spring out of nowhere again unexpectedly and hack away at your guys a little more and retreat again. To them, it’s death by a thousand cuts, and they’ll drag it out and wear an army down to the fucking bone mercilessly until their enemies just wish they were dead already. The west was never very good at that kind of fighting, and didn’t win shit until we industrialized and started lobbing bombs at them. If you’re from the west, you might just send a donation of useful items their way instead, bc that’s honestly the most help you can offer.
