Yes, Trump was very concerned with what Hunter Biden was doing in Ukraine a year before re-election while Biden was the frontrunner to win the Dem nomination. He gave no legitimate explanation for why he was so invested in the whole thing outside of political damage to his biggest opponent.
He used the power of the presidency to attempt to exhort Ukraine to launch an investigation into Hunter for purely political purposes. So he was impeached for abuse of power.
