Not sure about smoking before tripping but I've had some experiences smoking at the peak of the trip. It made the trip weird and a lot different from the first half. Probably best to smoke before but I never tried that in my LSD days.

I had a really strong experience smoking on a lsd comeup but i have no issues with it on the comedown. It wasn't a bad experience just wasn't what i was going after at the time.

The only exception I'd say is if you're a really heavy smoker and would normally get anxious if you quit for half a day.

I was 16 so way to young but i was visiting some old friends and he had a tab. It was my last day there and I decided to take it. When i was coming up I took a hotknife dab. I was the only one who took acid and when i finished my dab i could really start to feel the acid. One friend got mad at the other for letting me smoke, me watching this unfold put me into a well that might have been a bad idea mood. The trip was one of my most impactful though. I tripped hard on the concept of time, I felt stuck in place like i could move around but kept looping back to the same spot. I took it late and my "friends" fell asleep. I spent most of the trip alone in a bathroom. A lot of shit happened but afterwards weed was a lot different for me, if i looked at a clock wrong or tried to grasp the concept of time it sent me into a really paranoid state. I really fucked my teenage years with drugs now i am just a drunk. I ended up coming to the conclusion that i needed to take more acid... and did and for the most part i feel like i got over all of the shit from the first time.
Definitely regrettable years for me but i learned a lot from all of the journeys none of them were bad i just wish i saved them for later in life.

Sure, this was 5 years ago now but basically having a good come-up playing vidya and listening to podcasts. Never had a bad time on LSD in my 5 or 6 trips. It's always a fuckin blast. Around 4 hours in after meditating for like 30 minutes I pack a bowl in my vaporizer. Take a few small hits and everything seemed to slow down suddenly. It's impossible to describe but I saw a wave of lsd visuals start at the middle point of my vision and slowly ripple out to the edges. Everything felt weird and slow after that.
It wasn't a bad trip at all. I think I spent the last few hours just listening to music which sounded amazing. But the weed slowed me down and took all the energy out of the trip. The best part for me is feeling alive and, frankly, fucking WIRED the whole time.
Not a bad experience at all, but not for me and I probably wouldn't do that again.
