That doesn't fit at all. The Devil card signifies ties or desires that cause you problems. The classical image of the devil sitting on a chained treasure chest is symbolic of the things you really need to let go of because they're causing you trauma. Basically you want the treasure but if you try to take it the devil comes along with it. If you can let go of it and walk away you can leave those problems behind.
Think of it like those optional bosses that are crazy hard to beat and you don't even need to fight them but you're greedy for the unique loot they drop.
