does being clinically obese affect your job prospects when looking for work?
Does being clinically obese affect your job prospects when looking for work?
Yes, for certain jobs you cannot be a fat ass. Firemen for example need go be in shape.
Of course.
Legally no except for jobs where looks are a reasonable request such as modelling. Unofficially yes. Joe Biden can't nominate a black woman for Supreme Court justice it's illegal he nominating based on race and sex. What's gonna happen? Probably nothing.
Yes, I won't hire fatties
I just recently learned this lesson with a shop guy I hired.
My take away, obese people tend to have more health issues (duh).
This nigga was sick every other day and unable to fulfill his duties.
I like to think of myself as an unbiased person that isn’t shallow when hiring, but I’m not hiring for looks, it’s just one of those observations and lessons I’ll need to take with me moving forward.
People look at you like a lazy loser when you're fat.
And if you're a fat male; people look at you as a lazy creep of a loser
Of course. Self responsibility tells something about how you do your work. Why do you think people dress in a particular way for work? With your body's health is the same.
Yes. I get taken way more seriously now that I'm kinda jacked than I did when I was a fat fuck. People have a subconscious bias against and disgust for fat people. And rightfully so. If you cannot even take care of yourself, how are you going to take care of my business and assets?
Obese people are unpleasant to be around so they can't have any job that interacts with customers face to face. And they are typically unable to do any physically demanding jobs. From what I've seen they get hired on in times of desperation and moved to positions that are just the easiest parts of other people's jobs until the time comes they can be let go. We use to call it "trimming the fat"
Can you carry 75 pounds up a flight of stairs?
Unfortunately it’s not 1960 anymore and you can’t fire people just for being fat. It’s be a lot better if you could tho
Not for jobs that matter.
Menial labor and service work (janitorial, trades, emergency services...) you need to be physically fit, but intelligent jobs like anything engineering (software, mechanical, quantum...) you're at a desk all day so physical fitness in then a social construct.
Companies can make layoffs based on performance and necessity of position. They don't have jobs that are vital to the company as they have historically been fulfilled by others.
You are correct. No one is fired for being fat. It just so happens that the people in the positions that are of the least value are occupied by the largest individuals
People prefer to hire those who are more attractive.
Then there is also the assumption that fat equates to a slow if not lazy worker.
While there is some truth to that its certainly not the same fore everyone.
If I were an employer if I had to choose between to two equally efficient prospects (one fat, one average) I'd go for the latter.
>does being clinically obese affect your job prospects
What do you think? Why don't you get covered in tattoos too, as you have SO MUCH canvas area?
depends what you mean by clinically obese
>Diagnosed with the obeses genes?
it should since you're literally a subhuman with lower IQ and impulse control, but if you can pass for normal, it won't.
>slightly obese but presentable
if you don't smell and can carry yourself well, it might be a detriment but people have seen worse
>morbidly obese
no chances unless people are forced to hire you for some quota bs
>600 pounds life tier
big chance you won't be able to reach the interview room anyway.
yeah probably, though depends on what you're applying for.
but in general, 80% of getting a job is looking good.
and i dont mean necessarily looking like a 9/10 male model, but just looking clean and presentable.
make sure you're freshly showered, have no sweat or body odor, you're wearing a fresh clean crisp collared shirt. as a fat cunt you'll generally look better with a suit jacket on too so maybe try finding a circus tent you can convert.
yeah but you can do the old
>well things are quietening down
>we're gunna have to cut back your hours
>we'll call you when we need you for your next shift
even in Australia where a boss has to fill out a form and get govt permission to fire someone, there are still ways around it.
Yes, drastically. Why do you even ask? Its basically rhetorical. Are you obese? Thats probably why you're asking.
