Took my guitar to Guitar Center for some new pickups. When I picked it up I noticed a knick in the finish when I got home. I have no “proof” in the form of photos or anything and I’m sure they’ll just deny it. Has anyone had this happen with Guitar Center? Is there anything I can do?
Took my guitar to Guitar Center for some new pickups...
Cum on it and use it like t-cut.
Learn to fix your own shit. If you need someone to set up your guitar for you, youre a cosplayer.
If they deny it just get a furniture touch-up marker for that color, they work wonders.
Lol haha dumbass. Lrn2 your own pickups. It's really easy and you're a retard for not trying
you should have done it yourself, it's not that hard
So take it back see what happens
Did you not even play it before you left the store? Most dipshits who can't do anything for themselves will check the work prior to leaving, because once you walk out the door its on you. Stupid fuck
He'll get laughed at
I've never taken a guitar to Guitar Center to have work done on it. My dad, who played guitar all his life and was in several bands, told me never to take a guitar there and I never have. The only thing they've ever worked on was when I bought a Mesa Tremoverb 2x12 combo used, got it home, and the tubes crapped out. I took it back to them and they replaced all the tubes for me and that was it but I watched them do it.
Guitars get dings. It's not the end of the world. Consider it part of its character.
There's not really much they could do for it anyway barring refinishing the entire thing. I definitely wouldn't trust them to do that though.
OP, for future reference, if you want someone to work on your guitar either a) research the hell out of the subject and do it yourself
b) go to a hole in the wall music store (not a chain) and ask who they use for luthier services
c) google "luthiers near me"
Just paint the hole with sharpie and learn from your mistake
Thanks. I’ve played a long time but never learned how to do things like this, but perhaps I should have. I guess I’ll just have to put it down as a lesson learned.
All my guitars have little dings like that in various places. It happens but it makes it yours. Curious is that a Gibson or an Epiphone?
It's a shitty studio or some other low tier Les Paul (that ain't figured maple on top), get over it. Is that even a nitrocellulose finish lol
Gibson LP Satin Wine finish. Got it last year.
Did the same thing with my Warwick bass like 2 days after I got it...
>fucking around
>decided to throw on a foot pedal
>usually put the axe up to free up hands
>set it on my lap just knowing I'd probs drop something on it.
>fuckin dropped the 9v battery right on the face
>1/8" fucken gouge in the red finish
Fuck me.
Shit happens. Fortunately it's a used low-end Steamer, so nothing of value was lost.
That ding is nothing to be worried about, it's not even worth taking back to the shop where you got it and saying "look what you did to my guitar!" because it is so trivial that you should even be feeling embarrassed for even making this thread about it.
If there was some problem with the pickups that they installed like not not being wired up properly, sounding bad, low output or something that actually matters like those situations then you would have have a case, but that small, tiny, microscopic mark would be the least of my worries as it does not effect the sound of your guitar or the playability of it in any way.
put a Courtney Love sticker over it
Yeah, I totally get it. I’m just super disappointed because I didn’t come from many ways and means and always dreamed of having a Gibson LP. I got my first big job and finally bought one, only to have some dipshit put a knick in it. I’m just super upset it happened. I know it doesn’t affect the playability at all, but I’m just pissy about it right now. I’ll probably just live with it.
It wouldn’t bother me if I had done it, but when SOMEONE ELSE does it, it’s a different story.
