it is (probably) the cheapest land and was chosen by militaries the world over because of strategic placement. you do not use landmines to protect trash.

Are you talking anti-personel or anti-armor? Most likely AP since there are so many of them. Tracked earthmoving machines will set them off harmlessly unless they are bounding types, those are a batch. A bulldozer can clear a wide path, that would be the tact I'd take. You can find them by hand but you'll need some explosives to blow them in place.

You know setting them off just means you'll maybe have to bulldoze the ground flat after its all exploded.
Kinda the only real option you have.
Unless you want to spend a week finding and diffusing each one with a bomb squad.
