Coming down the pipe: These truckers are virtually fired, they literally have no where else to go after being fired. Once they return the equipment to the company they are dismissed. Text and emails have already gone out up and down the strike line that this is happening and now they refuse to go. You can't negotiate from a position of NO POSITION in the company. The capitalist have won. A lot of them are desperate for food and fuel and are making personal gofundme accounts to pay for their "free hotel" truck cabs. Legally the companies CANNOT remove them from the trucks because of some shift / work time rules. Ads are going out to in the states for temporary (swift) drivers who are being ubered to truck locations and "replacing" drivers to get product moving. Once you are OFF the truck, ordered by your replacement, they are technically NOT working for the company anymore. The temp drivers are taking trucks to temporary unloading stations where they are then ubered BACK to another company truck where the process is repeated. Truckers vacated this way are being black listed industry wide. Thousands of new job openings are being filled now and the new jobs are even LESS pay because they are being hired on a temporary basis than the regular veteran protesting drivers. NOBODY will hire back a difficult driver. Companies who call their old employers looking to do background are receiving a "coded" wink wink message which means DON'T HIRE THIS GUY. All they won was a ticket to unemployment and forced career changes.
