floof!

and glowy rocks :3
this display was really cute, little model train going around in circles with cars full of fluorescent crystals

Apparently not.

picture doesn't do this one justice, the specimen in the center is just the most lovely shade of electric blue

trippy.

that's awesome, I'm sure that was really cool to see

I'm still thinking about getting some emerald earrings, I wonder if my parents could get any at wholesale for me
lab grown is certainly cheaper, but natural ones would be lovely

ok one more pic :3
there were dozens of cases like this one, fluorescent rocks are nice to look at

there was a guy with a whole booth of natural emeralds, they get pricey pretty fast
he had some crystals still in matrix that were really nice for good prices, considered getting one
honestly though synthetic emeralds have way better color and clarity than most of the stuff mined these days, forget where this guy's stuff was sourced from but it was all a little pale and the clarity was variable

ah jeeze, this one guy though had the most amazing yellow sapphire, untreated, beautifully cut, almost perfect color, very clean, and over 55 carats
easily a mid six figure stone, really cool to see so close in person

wow, that pic is really cool
the green looks great on camera

oh yeah, emeralds are not cheap
lab grown probably is the way to go, but I guess a bit more fancy than I pretend to be :P

yellow sapphire is really pretty, 55 carats is crazy
must have been awesome to see

Wouldn't touch without a Geiger counter.

Nice try ip resolver :>

Wait, those discords are a scam?
People even have an interest in joining them to begin with?

May I be as bold as to ask where this was?

sapphire is really cool because of how many colors it can be
red looks a lot like rubies, it's beautiful
purple and pink are nice as well, I've always really liked sapphire

it's okay they're just re-emitting light, I don't think any of those are radioactive
they definitely look like they could be under shortwave light though!
there actually were a couple examples of some uranium containing minerals at the show, idk if those fluoresce or not though

yeah the green is really striking
and ya lol my gf didn't get why I was gushing over the sapphire so much, but it was something to show off for sure
there was also a really impressive bi-color tourmaline, very tall boi in attractive matrix, perfect hexagonal crystal, think they wanted like 50k for it though lol, so outside my budget

Tucson, Arizona
they do a yearly gem and mineral show, it's one of if not the largest in the world, people come from all over to show off collections and sell/trade stuff
there are also a ton of related smaller shows here dealing with more specialized gems, minerals, or fossils leading up to the main event
maybe you can check it out next february user, idk what the main theme is going to be though, the fluorescent minerals this year were pretty impressive

I was thining about marketing a less than lethal weapon to my police department. I dont know how i should go about it.

wow, that's an expensive tourmaline!
sounds awesome
I'd love to go back to a gem show, I kinda started to appreciate crystals and everything a bit more when I went, and just the past few years in general
really cool stuff

yeah I love sapphires and rubies, it's why I got some polished corundum as a souvenir, same mineral just opaque. not as pretty of course but you can get nice big chunks of it and when you polish it up it can exhibit asterism like star sapphires do, which is neat
