What's the worst thing that has ever happened to you?

I developed a severe urethral stricture and had to undergo a two stage buccal graft urethroplasty. I spent six months with my dick flayed open like a piece of trout while a graft made out of my cheek lining healed up, then another eight weeks with a catheter after they sewed everything up. Full recovery took another two years after that.

Being born

Closed back up a bit due to scarring about 4-6 months after the second surgery. They did another cystoscopy/dilation procedure. Afterwards told me I basically had the choice between a redo surgery (long-term success rate drops exponentially every time they do anything) or self-dilating using a high-end steroid to try and prevent the scaring from recurring. It's been two years since then and almost a year since I stopped the dilation and so far so good.

The scarring still freaks me out a little... that and the fact that every time I piss it looks like a clown spraying seltzer. Average human urination rate is apparently something like 10-15 mL/s, last time I went in for a checkup I hit 35 mL/s.

I think they had just decided they didn't want kids any more on a whim. I think this because there was no real provocation on my part or theirs.

They changed their mind four years later, though, but I didn't stay with them long after anyways.

that sounds crazy. i've heard of idiots modifying their own dicks and the stupid shit that happens like fountain pissing, but sucks that it wasn't your choice and that it was such a long road to recovery

My room mate burned our house down because he is a heroin addict. Everything is gone, all my IDs my birth certificate and social security card. I was in between jobs so now I can’t prove my identity. I’m about to run out of money. This shit sucks.

Happened at the end of the month sink had already paid the February rent. I’m fucking despairing and not sure what to do. I have my wallet the clothes on my back and have been sleeping in my car.

I went to my dad's house when he was dying. He had this little cat that he had been taking care of when he was still walking around. It was freezing cold and the cat was outside in the yard.

The first night I was there, we saw the cat clawing at the basement window trying to get in. It was so cold. I wanted to bring her in, but my stepmom was like "no, it'll be fine, don't bring that thing in here!"

The next morning we came downstairs and the cat was frozen to death in the window. I felt so fucking horrible I should have brought it in anyway...she just wanted to be inside where it was warm with the man who took care of her :(

I get the self deprecating humor of it but it also means you've had a pretty blessed life compared to many (perhaps even most) people
