You know how some people use these wooden figures to reference poses? But you can't simulate movement with them unless you have an arduino and a lot of time. It's easier to 3d animate for reference. Alternatively, you can plan out an entire scene with movement using a 3d model, to see if it looks bad, before drawing. It's better than first drawing it for weeks and then throwing it away because you hate it.
