How can you call this mature and usable with a straight face.

what did he mean by this?

10 years isn't mature
even 18 isn't
maturity is about 30 yo

If you want mature and usable don't use desktop linux.

then there are no mature desktop systems
just use tty linux

It's specific to $GPU_OF_THE_DAY_I_DONT_LIKE. Not a bug, won't fix!

People make fun of X for being decades old, but Wayland will be as old as X by the time it's fully usable, isn't it?

nvidia
i don't like nvidia

Wayland will never be as old as X because X keeps aging too you retard

its cargo cult poetteringware
* lgbt had a justification for fornication to offer normal people
* rust had a borrow checker, which won't get copied in c++ for a while
* even systemd used cgroups and had redhat writing service description files
whereas
* gayland lacks features, then claims no one seriously uses them, then claims that opposition to gayland is opposition to lgbt, rust, and systemd

Never, ever use IBM or Red Hat technology. You're asking to be raped by jeets.

Could have worded it better but that's not what I meant.
X was 24 when Wayland was first introduced and one of the arguments was that X *is* over 20 years old.
Wayland will probably be 24 as well by the time it can fully replace X. At that point won't we just say Wayland is too old and we need something new?

iTs JuSt A pRoToCol, bro. You're gonna have to write a dbus wormhole for that.

Wayland was the protocol of the future that became the protocol of the past while never becoming the protocol of the present.

>its cargo cult poetteringware
Poettering has never been involved in any way with the development of Wayland.

Linux is a kernel, and that kernel is the same whether it's used in desktops or non-desktop machines. What exactly do you mean by "desktop Linux"?

We wouldn't have these threads every single fucking day if either display server worked well

>What exactly do you mean by "desktop Linux"?
:^)

I switched to Wayland out of curiosity and testing.
works pretty good so far, games work, electron works too.
am on nvidia-open and gnome

Werks on my machine.

Wayland is not like systemd at all in any way, shape or form. There are plenty of valid reasons to dislike wayland and systemd, and those reasons have pretty much zero overlap. Really dumb, low IQ equivalence to make.

You arent even 18 years old b&
