My sister isn't the smartest of women. She seems to be under the Gen X impression that "education = success" when that isn't even true. I knew a guy who went to a 4 year college and ended up working at a dollar store. He had to go back to college and major in something else to even get a job.

It is easier for competent employees to move up at USPS. You're almost guaranteed to never end up with 50 hour weeks. Very rigid schedule that you can actually live a life around. Government benefits can be nice too.

I see no reason why it'd be worth going back to school just to end up at a shitty job when USPS is going to have you (more than likely at least) making more money by the time you would graduate.

The exam isn't hard, that's why so many people pass it. The problem is that many people want the job because its a forever pension for only 20 years of work.

nursing school will still be in need later, working postal sucks though, its not a huge risk at minimum though as long as you keep saving money and can afford school, so be careful. ph00g

USPS is a great job. Simple, consistent, stable. Working at a hospital can be hectic and intense at times, but it will be more satisfying and pay you more. I say, if you're not really motivated to work at a hospital, then I wouldn't put myself in debt just to do it.
