Yeah it was, only shit thing was slow internet and the fact that your fat pig of a mother was creampied and shat out you.

This

It was that great.
No incels like you around

There were fags of course, but not nearly as many fags as we have today

The 90s were legit godlike. I'd go back in a second.

I mean, compared to today, yes.

Compared to many times before 1970, no.

I’m 37 now so was “coming of age” in the 90s. It was awesome, everything felt new and magical still. I had hope for the future, Video games were awesome. Movies were awesome. I still remember reading “game pro” while sitting on my bedroom floor. I loved my 19” Tv I would play PS 1 on. I remember reading the newspaper and auto trader to buy my first car. Walking around the mall with my 14 year old girlfriend. Maybe around 2006 things started to go downhill and now it’s just shit in comparison

eh, some things were better some were worse. I can tell you that I do not miss pay phones, checkbooks, ordering through catalogs, dialup, smoking in resturants, compilation CDs, MTV, giant heavy ass TVs, and computers costing thousands of dollars that could barely keep up with consoles.

There was also a FUCK TON of paper-waste. Brochures, pamphlets, fliers, handbills, forms, cabinets filled with documents that may or may not be up to date. Clerical work was a god damn nightmare.

It was a bit more chill and fun tho. Arcades ruled, I love grunge/alternative, there was a noticable difference between console releases other than "slightly sharper picture/60fps/glass is shiny now" and people got together a lot more often just to hangout.

The 90s as a kid was the last generation to experience freedom. IE early internet no cell phones. Most importantly no social media which has destroyed childhood. Growing up in the 90s I could leave a house by myself make sure be home by sunset for dinner. I did something stupid that shit died within a few weeks. School life was just that only school so you can have a personal life as well. Social media destroyed that freedom completely. Feel bad for the latest generation to not have this freedom.

They were shit. Boring, and a world of lies since the internet changed so much. If you grew up in the 90s, chances are good that you were raised in a way that stopped being relevant in 2004 and you ended up having to figure every little thing out for yourself with no help
Which is why most of my peers never figured anything out and the only thing theyve gained is a bunch of addictions and broken families
Now we get to see how all the chronic masturbating minecraft kiddies do lmao shits going to all get so much more retarded

dont worry, it'll come back. ive noticed that a lot of kids in their teens are starting to value their privacy, socializing in person, and having things in life that don't need to be perpetually reported to a god-mainframe.

>I had hope for the future
This. Part of it was just being young and naive but not all of it. The world was already going downhill it just was rolling slowly then. These days we're almost free falling.

Yes, the 90’s was legit the highlight of modern society. Prosperous time, things were cool and interesting, art was great, very diverse, people were cool

>Prosperous time, things were cool and interesting, art was great, very diverse, people were cool
That and tech was already pretty powerful (which is to an extent responsible for the interesting part) but has not conquered and enslaved us yet.

going for bike rides with your friends
playing football at recess
climbing trees and digging under rocks for bugs in the yard
comics, nintendo and sega, gameboy color
AOL and the wild west of the interwebz
had none of this racism/sexism/etc. bullshit like we do today, was still in it's early stages so would just see some cringey or gay ads or talks in school from time to time.
honestly 90's were pretty dope, i mean sure there wasnt the 'convenience' of today but it was more peaceful? people got along and kept their politics, religion, and finances private rather than making everything about the three. there wasn't really all the instant gratification so when you had to be patient for the things you wanted, work to get it and when you did it just felt a bit more meaningful that said I don't want to go on the hero's adventure just to find a garage sale to get some cheap used furniture.
probably just childhood nostalgia and all that but it really was a pretty great time

some of us had cable internet when it was new. dial up days was pretty lame though.

The quads confirm it very cool bro

>people got along and kept their politics, religion, and finances private rather than making everything about the three.
This is one of the worst changes. Remember when those obsessing about the first two were considered loons and those obsessing about the third were pretty much seen as soulless (like lawyers)? Even taking politics and religion too seriously was seen as lame, especially on the Internet.

why have i seen this pic on like 5 boards the past week

Tf is it even supposed to be

no it was just as retarded

There was a general vibe of wanting to be cool. Of doing extreme or really cool things. People were generally free and open with things with each other because there was no spyware everywhere. When people were honest with each other about what they wanted, they all realized they just wanted to be cool and have a nice life. We had more competitions, people were more serious about things... Things got done so well and so consistently that we had ridiculous standards in the market for cool things.

9/11/2001 is exactly what killed it. The vibe, the market, the glory. People started distrusting each other, people were no longer able to just close the curtains and be real with each other all the time so people just started rotting. We had the vibe stay for a while where people wanted to be epic because they didn't fully realize yet the government betrayed the people, but now everyone has since realized and are completely shooken up about it. We don't do crazy hardcore parkour or even dare to do lulzy pranks in public like we used to. Meeting up with friends for a LAN party is now considered fishy or suspicious. Everybody pretends to love each other or something because we're trying to find happiness in this new world and now everyone's going gay or feigning mental illness just to get a wagie position making shit products.

People used to compete, not to step on each other for money, but to make the best product for money. It was in the games, the clothes, the cars... Everything. It was kind of weird to wear something bland or basic without some kind of decoration or doing something cool with it just to be happy and free.

...I want to go back... Osama Bin Laden is dead, repeal the "patriot act"... Give the nation back to the people

The 90s were the last time where you could shut the fuck up and have fun.
As other said, it was thanks to not making it all about fights and politics and money and the world falling apart, etc..

Just fire up your console and play a game, no microtransaction or stupid shit.
Just hang out with friends and be dumb, no fighting over who is hurt more and whatnot.
You want to watch something, you wake up and watch it or record it and watch when you want to, no fucktards on twitch and getting automated DMCA emails for torrenting shit.
You want to know what's up in your country, just read a magazine and watch TV. No fucktards on twitter and boomers trying to tiktok their programs.

It was the last decade where you could just fucking be, and be together too. Nobody's looking at their fuckin pager all day, or taking photos of their meal when hanging out together.
