The math and the graphics code are both easier. The art is harder; it takes more technical knowledge to sculpt and rig a passable ragdoll, sure, but still much more artistic skill, and much, much more patience, to design and animate a character sprite.

1 less D to deal with Take away that second D too so it's super easy

Yes

Yes.

hivemind

Its like 5 to 10 times easier

Yes, the less dimensions, the easier the game to make. Go 1D if youre still starting.

ive been making a multipplayer game on javascript, but its gotten to the point that its too confusing. i got async fubctions that shoukd he async etc...
should i keep at it or just start over with godot?

>1D
qrd?

Yep, but there are pros and cons to both. If you can manage to get your head around the Z axis it's not so bad

Not really, just different

literally just a number line!

practice in 4d and 3d will become trivial

I agree with this post. 3D is more difficult in terms of vector maths, but regarding art, it's actually more time consuming to have an animated sprite especially when they re not pixel art.
Hell, even if you make a 2d game, its actually easier to work with a 3D model with a shader applied on it to make it look like it's 2d, than to have a real 2d sprite. thats what is actually done in Dead Cells while the decor is in real 2d (I talked with one of the devs). Its done also i a lot of other game, I think Hades is one of them
But anyway, to give you a definitive answer OP, 3D is way much harder in general.

Fuck off Cris

Yes, start with that.

Not like you'll make either one.

3D means linear algebra

Sprites!

here use this, it's a FOSS gamemaker
make some objects and events and bam instant game
