do you like systemd anons? cause i don't
I don't like systemd
>a stop job is running
this is what it prints to the console as it copies your web history, saved passwords, dotfiles, and downloads to google
you are reddit

I prefer runit, its very simple and easy to use
this but on startup(ubuntu server), it's something that has no time limit, but lasts at the very least 1-2 minutes. I don't know what's going on, what I do know is I hate it
heh
really don't understand why everyone kneejerks to reddit, it's a lot harder to find a specific community unless it's a very popular community (i.e. thonkpad general) on Any Forums then it is on reddit.
I do. Everything just werks
Same. Systemd is nice for my server but I don't need it for my desktop or laptop, runit is just about perfect for my needs.
seeeeeeeeeeeeeee gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I'm fine with it. Unit file overrides are nice and it exposes a lot of really nice security features that can be applied on a per-service basis.
i dont see anything wrong with it? what is the problem with systemd and why is it hated here?
>what is the problem with systemd
no actual criticisms from Any Forums
>why is it hated here?
Again, no actual reasons. Just memes.
sysd is auditable, free as in libre software that just works. Choosing to use another init isn't a crime, but blind "hatred" (as in retardation) should be.
I actually like it!
i wonder how many people avoiding systemd here have actually been using linux long enough to remember what it was like before systemd existed
i've literally never seen that message
irrelevant. openrc is superior to systemd and sysv
/etc/init.d/cringe start. It was great, it was still better than systemd. S6 and 66-tools is the future i choose.
I've been using it for years and I haven't had many issues with it, I understand why certain people dislike and I actually have decided to try an alternative someday. But it's not a steaming pile shit I can't wait to get rid of such as pulseaudio.
I think 99% of users don't even know what systemd is and should be fine with it. Apparently some redditors read systemd is le bad and decided they don't like it either.
i used to not like systemd but then i tried out nixos
that uses systemd
it runs so well though just learn how to install it user
