Why does GNOME 2 look so cool?
Why does GNOME 2 look so cool?
Because it was designed by pot smokers. Pot smokers have inspiration
I once heard someone describe it as that GNOME 2 wasn't actually very good, but it was at least a desktop environment, as opposed to the botched abortion that GNOME 3 was (and that new versions are now continuing). Sort of like a takeout meal, not great, but adequate, and certainly far preferable to eating bugs.
GNOME's default icon theme was always butt ugly. But they actually managed it to make it even uglier over the years. Impressive. That's the power of transitioning.
It's iconic
GNOME2 but based on QT instead of GTK would be great.
Lack of fat fuck titlebars
>Why does GNOME 2 look so cool?
Because it's old and non-mainstream now, so it appeals to contrarians.
I liked it even when it was Mainstream.
I don't care if the environment is popular or not.
The fish panel extension is so kino.
Come home white man.
compiz with whatever was best
Because Gnome 3 is barely usable in comparison, even if it looks prettier.
It had that homely look. Not too serious, not too wacky. I even used an msstyles theme to make Windows look like that.
Clearlooks and Bluecurve just were great themes.
I wouldn't say it looks cool but it certainly worked well. Linux desktop peaked in the late 2000s
To the bug fest
MATE Qt is really all i want
Because you baby ducked on macOS v9.x
KDE4 was infinitely better.
Can you still compile the last GNOME2 version on a modern Distro?
QT can even use GTK2 themes so it would be perfect.
sovl
that's one of the reasons why i suggest it
does anyone know where i can download these 2000's style wallpapers?
