For sleep zopiclone is based but i think its banned in the US so you can only get ambien

why is zopiclone banned?

Is there any bad side effects for taking sleep aid for a long period of time?

Depending on the drug it might downregulate the GABA system and cause insomnia as withdrawal. Better to take the nootropic a1 blocker brexpiprazole and the melatonin-boosting luvox

Alzheimer's/dementia

depends on the medication. especially antipsychotics may cause some nasty side effects, benzos develop tolerance etc. better use them as needed, not daily. hydroxyzine is imo the best drug to use for a longer period of time

how is a nootropic supposed to help with insomnia?

Because you could just work out to the point of exhaustion and have a better sleep, without telling your brain it needs extra chemicals for sleeping. And you'll be healthier.

It helps with sleep via a1 blockade, and it lacks deleterious anticholinergic and antihistamine effects

because i have some neurological issues and the point of exhaustion does not arrive before morning sometimes

Neurological issues that make you not get exhausted? Sounds like a blessing. Or you just aren't working out hard enough.
