• Why use a PMP instead of a phone? >better DAC/AMP >more output power so it can drive higher impedance headphones >smaller sizes than phones for activities like exercise >physical buttons >headphone jacks >some people can't use smartphone at work/use dumbphones
• How to request advice: >Budget >Source (phone or PMPs) >Location >Kind (in-ears or earbuds) >Sound Signature (or genres you like, important!) >Past gear and your thoughts on them (important!)
>Budget 80 euros, I guess. >Source (phone or PMPs) iPhone for now. >Location EU. >Kind (in-ears or earbuds) Both are fine for me. >Sound Signature (or genres you like, important!) Depeche Mode, mostly. >Past gear and your thoughts on them (important!) I just don't want something that will break in under a year, that would be nice. Also, I'd prefer not to buy any cheap chinkshit.
The last point brings me to a question: why are these threads always full of cheap chinkshit for 20 or 30 bucks? Are they really that good, or are these threads by and for pajeets?
Blake Barnes
theyre good for the price also yes
if you want something that lasts long try out the qc gods: kz, etymotic, and sony

Moondrop Chu...
Parker Stewart
It's a bit of a gamble and it is personal taste.
I had the Tin T2 Pro that everyone raved about a few years ago, and found it mediocre... good sound but wouldn't stay in the ears, so what was the point?
But I gambled on the CCA CRA, since for $15 why not, and have been super impressed. Has removable cables, and the design reminds me a bit of the Shure which back in the day were top.
Bentley Parker
what are some good under $100 PMPs with USB-C?
Lucas Wood
90% of options are chinkshit You have zero guarantee any higher priced product will last any longer than a $15 CRA Diminishing returns as you go up in price because budget ChiFi has gotten so good that performance:price ratio is skewed (ie if you aren't doing critical listening, cheap IEMs accomplish sound that is 90% good enough)
Wyatt Bennett
i want to use my chu but im afraid they will break bros
IEMs can die just sitting in storage. I've learned from this lesson before so quite simply I say: Enjoy and use your best/favorite IEMs right now. This also doesn't mean go running in the rain with Chus like an idiot, but you get the point
Easton Young
Still waiting for my 3rd pair of Chu's, the first and the first replacement both had faulty right driver.
James Evans
>Tin T2 Pro that everyone raved You mean the plus? Because the pros are garbage and is a different iem entirely
Nolan Sullivan
>when a moonderp takes really good care not to break his already cheapo-made iem
Yeah, I got the Conexant CX31993. I had to or I won't even be able to use it on the go since modern phones are garbage when it comes to I/O.
Justin Jackson
If you use anything, they'll break. Better enjoy it right now user than never enjoy it at all.
Ayden Miller
I must mean the plus I think!
I think the problem with the fit was a combination of the MMCX connector which would rotate; it just seem like with a fixed two pin connector there is no rotation and so over ear is more solid.
David Hall
>it needs to be expensive to be good Because they are that good, you have to be careful if you're still stuck with that mentality above Audiophile hobby is largely a waste of money nowadays since there are some chink gems out there that are just as good as "super professional" stuff One schizo rabidly shitposting doesn't suddenly make it bad against 99% of other positive reviews, if there's still a huge hype behind it, it's because there's something worthy about it that makes it stand out
James Murphy
I'm torn between shuoer ej07m and variations, ahhhh can't decide.
