YIKESRINO

Hmmm, this actually supports 1333MHz FSB 6000 series.

Use LTSC and disable SVCHost split.

Anyone have an E6700/6750/6850? I'll trade for a Xeon E5440. (2.83GHz 12MB cache quad)

>in pile of untested CPUs, have E6300 (1.86GHz) and E6400 (2.13GHz)
Fuck.

Well, it is technically faster. Maybe I should test it.

install windows 7 32-bit

What's the fastest single-thread Core 2 CPU out there?

>kikesbench
don't bother feeding data to these scumbags, I'm sure this garbage website will rank your cpu higher than a ryzen 7 5800X3D just because it's made by intel

Install Windows 8.0 or

E8600

Won't work in this machine since it can't take the 45nm CPUs.

Looks like CPU-Z's test doesn't take advantage of the extra cache of the E6400.
So, I wonder if that makes this the smallest upgrade in PC history.

Get a Q6600 or a Q9300, they're basically free around the internet.

Wait, the E4500 has 2MB too.
So the only difference is bus speed?

QX9650 probably.

Hmm, the G33 chipset technically *can* support 45nm.
It's only $5 for an E8400, but I don't know if I want to waste $5 on a CPU that's not on the support list.

I want to upgrade this so bad, but I don't want to spend $8 on a machine I'll be giving away for free.
I already put 2GB more DDR2 into it since I had that lying around.
3GHz 4MB cache Core2Duo ain't bad.

$3.44 on aliexpress with $3 off coupon.

So tempting...

Maybe I'll charge $5 for it.

Seems like the quad core has a bit lower frequency. Since the duo is probably much easier to get, I am considering that for a retro XP machine.

An even bigger "halp". Got it along with the E4500.
The onboard 32GB storage seems like it's dead, so I have a laptop HDD sticking out the back. (it weirdly doesn't quite fit in the slot for it)

Not sure if this thing is going to be worth a $20 SSD.

Seems its turbo makes up for its low base clock, so it's only a hair under the E4500.
As an AIO it might just be worth a 120GB SSD.
