Home come it is 2022 and Smart TVs are still rather slow? Tried the built in browser on my samsung TV today and it took forever to browse the net.
It it so bad that it is pretty much unusable and a waste of hardware.

For the same reason updates/security are shit on them. You can't see that kind of difference in a store, so it has no impact on sales. They have no reason to shell out for a better processor. In fact they'd rather you upgrade when your tv gets slow. Their dream is to have turnover rate be the same as cell phones.

Same as it ever was. Only app I use is jewtube. I ran OSMC for years but after plugins went away I just surrendered and started investing in VHS and DVD movies.
The what?
Smart TVs weren't made for browsing the web, they are meant to be used for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
The LG OS is actually zippy, the ui is sluggish, but you can bypass that with the remote mouse. They need to make it so that downloading data doesn't lock the ui and you're set
How the fuck is it slow?
hello, is this the based department?
Do Americans really buy TVs just to watch commercials ?
Almost exclusively, yes.
>slow?

Is that supposed to be some kind of rebuttal?
Just use or build a PC and attach it. For me a TV is just a big monitor. Also PC monitors are horribly overpriced.
For less demanding use cases some simple Athlon dual core or salvaged laptop can serve as a HTPC.
