Nothing fucking works

>Windows user since forever
>Loved XP, nothing broke or disfunctioned literally ever
>Learned how to use everything on that computer
>Eventually GPU got fried after 8 years and had to get new PC, performance was getting too low and was losing compatibility
>Buy "good" laptop
>Although it is a great device, dx11 was disfunctional af, win8.1 and was getting hot even when browsing web
>4 years later get new desktop, w10, modern specs, works exceptionally well
>3 years in, psu gets fried, replaced it no problem
>4 years in, OS is constantly stuttering, system and non-system programs crashing for no reason, constant nagging to use w11, C drive gets filled and emptied each week, I literally dont even have installed programs for it, its just the OS, constantly get weird bugs, all settings reverted after every other patch
>At this point its too debilitating and tedious to use w10
>Over the last ~3 years constantly attempt to switch to linux for all the possible reasons you are tired of reading about
>Every distro at some point got bricked, didnt know how to fix, didnt have software availability, wouldnt even have drivers for ethernet after installation etc
>Eventually end up on fedora for almost half a year, though I was done with hopping
>System got bricked after simple update
>Reinstalled fedora, for some reason would take forever to boot and once booted would take 1.5-1.6G of ram on cold boot
>Put Artix KDE on a flash drive
>It wouldnt show the desktop upon boot, just a cursor, could be a stick problem I dont fucking know at this point
I am so tired of getting JUSTED all the time with this shit. At this point I dont even fucking know.
Why cant something just work for once?

thats what you get for using Troonix

Never update seems like the solution for you. Windows 10 ltsc 1809 version never hanged up on me, i recently installed ltsc 2021 and it's kinda buggy even though there are no new features i need.
I've ran a debian 8 desktop for like 3 or 4 years and it never broke either.

What you're experiencing are symptoms of the disgusting clown world we find ourselves in, where the people in charge of making these things are universally incompetent. Nothing will ever "just work" again.

huh? Just switch to macos if you want something that just works.

buy a macbook, you're clearly retarded

To my shame I was considering it but then I saw a vid on tiling in MacOS.
Also soldered degradable components are an instant no.
So no.

Magnet makes window management bearable in macos

>noooo why am I too dumb to get stuff working on linux! This is everyones fault!
>"uh ok, just use this other fairly nice but closed OS that actually works"
>no
shit thread

But I would were it not for the planned obsolete hardware. Cant read can you?

literally just don't drop it or spill water on it.

I take great care of my electronics.
What about the ssd that is condemned to die after few years of use? By few I mean less than 8 years.

Silverblue (GNOME) and Kinoite (KDE) are immutable, meaning that the core OS cant be modified and destroyed like in traditional distros, it also has extra benefits like instant updates without waiting after restarting thanks to rpm-ostree and fast rollbacks on the rare occasion something does break. These are THE most stable, normie friendly distros right now. Take the immutable pill user, come home.

Nigger how long do you need to keep your hardware? Depreciation cycle is 4 years, just buy need hardware every 4 years

Not OP, but on my machine there seems to be some kind of bug in Windows 10 where updating it causes Windows 10's HDR functionality to glitch out and make half my applications use HDR mode by default even though I don't have the hardware for it, resulting in things like Edge and D*scord looking washed out. After a day of fucking with the registry unsuccessfully trying to fix it (the fix on my other machines was to add a missing registry key in a specific spot), I ended up just reinstalling 10 and disabling all updates. So far so good, but I definitely have security concerns about DD'ing a system like this, it's reminding me of how I used to run Windows 7 way past its EOL date and constantly being worried about getting exploited.

Do not fall for the Arch/Artix or Fedora meme. Ubuntu with GNOME is the only thing you need if you wanna use Linux. And if you don't, both Windows 10 and 11 just work. The last thing you want is to fall for neckbeard memes that just make life harder for you.

>Just buy this application that may or may not sell your data and will be deprecated in the next OS update in a year. Then just buy a new application that does the same thing but slightly differently so you have to relearn it and has the same issues. Rinse and repeat
All this just to make the OS function at a basic level.

>just design your hardware and write your os from scratch, bro

Retards should use Ubuntu lts or debian.

>for some reason would take forever to boot and once booted would take 1.5-1.6G of ram on cold boot
Your post was dumb, but this was the dumbest point of your whole stupid ass post. Kys, read newspapers, technology isn't for you.

JUST INSTALL UBUNTU
