ITT examples of technology with no purpose other than to fuck you over
okay, commie
I don't get it.
i'm not sure what this is but i can say that printers in general are a pain in the ass and i don't know why. we can launch rockets to space but we still have issues with printing.
It's the chip that tells the printer the cartridge is empty, even when it isn't, so that you cannot use it anymore and must buy a new one. Refilling doesn't work either.
BUT THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE GENUINE EXPERIENCE
Instead of glass cabinet doors we'll put in a full screen display so you can see what's inside
Because they are very cheap. Like $50.
The technology is there because printers at my university and workplace have been amazing but home users want cheap printer for the occasional government or medical forms they still need to print.
This is the fault of capitalism.
because of socks?
Paper comes in all kinds of textures and sizes and qualities, and media types, (ie label, transparencies.) Paper gradually deposits fine dust everywhere (plus the printer accumulates dust from the room.) Dust is not good for operation of mechanical devices, which printers will forever be.
Each year we also expect printers to spit out pages faster and from increasingly compact devices. So the paper has to navigate increasingly tighter curves.
It's like taking a single type of rocket and expecting it to be used for deploying payloads into orbit, putting men on the moon, and launching warheads into that country with bigger dicks than yours. All with minimal modification for the task. And for cheap.
I have never once seen this type of refrigerator anywhere in America, living in 6 states and 8 cities, both rural, suburban, and urban, over the last 25 years.
Plenty in chicago
just buy a non cheap printer you dumb fucks
I bought a tank model and they include enough ink for 3000 black pages and like 2200 color pages but guess what the printer isn't $30....
and the bottles were cheap as
yeah because it lets people see prices easier and they can be updated easier than someone standing in a fucking freezer changing tags
also you can see what was meant to be there if out of stock. And it looks nicer
They couldn't just drive a bunch of e paper displays or 7 segments with an esp8266 and have the display only where necessary, right?
>it looks nicer
i can tell you've only seen photos
go find a video of these things, they have drinks bouncing, pop ups, all kinds of distracting shit
>want pepsi
>open the door
>no pepsi
>shop does planned revisions each morning so no one gives a fuck about updates until the next morning when the next batch of products will be delivered
will happen in 7 cases out of 10
>they can be updated easier
How often does the price change?
I assume America is like one of those poor african nations where your money loses half its value between leaving your house and arriving at the store
Buy used laser printer for cheap
Refill, empty "surplus toner" (not sure what's the proper name of it), change plastic rollers when necessary
Problem?
nothing bozo?
that "used" printer would be a decent model, unlike OPs where they need the toner sales to actually make money
also laser printers aren't as good as everyone makes out, only if you print once a year. Too many consumables like the drum also
