The version where Android stopped reminding us that it was based on Java

Android 2.2 was the point in which I thought phones where starting to be seriously portable PCs with the introduction of flash player.
Not sure how good it actually was, bought a windows phone in 2011 rather than an android device.
Worse fucking mistake in hindsight.

Holo was kino, Material Design was a mistake.

> application has stopped responding
android 2 was garbage. pretending otherwise is disingenuous.

Give me back my icecream sandwich htc desire sense

Looks really dated
SOVL

cyanogenmod 7 worked just fine for me
i used it for quite a long time because my phone wasn't fast enough for android 4.x (people made 4.0-4.2 roms for it, but it was a low end phone so it was just not worth the additional slow-down)

It really hurts sometimes when looking back to what android used to be, and i'm not talking about the issues or any of the negatives that came with earlier releases. Jelly bean and kitkat as a whole were both good releases.

consider suicide

RIP

Anyone know of any decent icon packs to relive the KitKat glory days?

>cyanogenmod 7 worked just fine for me
yes, that thing made older android versions much more nicer to use. should have mentioned that in my rant.

i'm the opposite, i literally have never used an OEM rom, i got an android phone specifically because it had options like this, so the first step i did was install cyanogenmod, CM7 was my first android system, and i used it for about 3 years
customised to fuck by the end of it, still have that phone lying around

I'm really glad apps like Kustom and Nova exist. Combined with rooting you get a lot of visual system customization.
I only have bad memories of 2.2
I was in the worst state financially in my life lmao
based

Flat shit.

>my phone wasn't fast enough for android 4.x
Android version from 3.0 to 4.4W became faster and less resources usage. You wouldve had better performance with 4.4 than 4.0

i don't think people made roms that new for that phone
i'm talking a phone officially only up to 2.2, with no 3D hardware acceleration

Symbian s60v3 for me.

Not even google stock? That at which comes with the nexus and pixel devices.

i haven't used a nexus or pixel phone before

I see, well they're pretty good in my experience. Although I did acquire said devices after they've had multiple patches and fixes tacked on. Still, overall they've been pretty solid and without any bloat ware other than google shit, which you can disable if you wish.

i don't install gapps on my phone, got rid of my google account back in 2014, so i doubt it offers anything lineageos doesn't

>tfw smartphones have only been getting worse after a point
I thought technology was supposed to improve with time, but I guess that doesn't apply to tech mass adopted by normalfaggots

no, it doesn't
