Unfiltered internet access is safe when children are old enough to understand things in a more mature way. Until then, websites should be whitelisted. Also, websites shouldn't try to implement their own child safety features, that should be the parents job.

The internet was safer for children many years ago when we had forums, more moderated spaces and no recommendation algorithms targeting children for advertising bucks instead of the total free for all social media algorithm garbage we have now.
