Based or cringe?
Based or cringe?
cringe because you can only use 2,5" devices
Why is it cringe? It gives itx boards more drives to plug into
I have this one. Supports 2.5"/3.5" IDE/SATA.
beyond based. id have one if i could but i dont even have a dollar XD
i have that exact one too
lol nice bait
3.5" devices need 12v, usb only gives 5v
hmm, interesting, thanks
Had one for my PS2. So much useful, I can load games without having to plug the drive with SATA cable.
good if you dont want to run a pi server off an sd card that will invariably fail
SOUL
This is what I want for my backup micro server.
Dell Wyse 5070 is a lot better, try getting that one instead
Cringe.
If you need extra storage get a proper enclosure and for backups use something like pic related.
That adapter does 12v, so it supports 3.5" HDD. Use reverse image search, it does wonders.
What these cheap adapters don't support are optical drives. There are a few expensive models which with with both HDD and ODD.
The one in OP does not. I have five of them - none of them have a 12v input. You need something like , which has a barrel jack for 12v input on the back. The bridge will work without it, but of course a drive that needs 12v won't work.
Is that a VCR underneath that cute Dell?
Onkyo T4430 radio
Cringe. If you're going with a docking station, get one that takes two disks, supports cloning and has a card reader/hub.
You're right, I was thinking of pic related which has a 12V jack.
>I have five of them
Is any of yours compatible with optical drives? Can you test?
>Can you test?
They won't work, since desktop optical drives need 12v to run the spindle. Laptop opticals may work (since they run on 5v), but neither of my laptops have optical drives.
