CRT guy here again from a few days ago, thanks to the guy who got me the links for Win DAS. Is there any way to get the signal generator to work? Or another program to simulate signals instead? Tried the /crt/ thread but never got any replies

No problem

This is the generator I use, it however is not good enough for doing the full color procedure as it lacks 50% grays and stuff like that.
That's a project idea for some day, write a better FOSS test pattern generator.
CRTs illuminate only one line at a time, so if your cameras exposure time doesn't cover the whole duration of a scanout, dark areas like that appear.
Oh also, if it tells you to use precise timings, this calculator of mine is helpful for converting between the different representations kosshi.gitlab.io

OPs LCD is shit and so is his camera
edge-lit panels were a mistake
but muh thinness
Top center is peak
Bottom center is shit
Too bad they haven't made CCFL back-lit monitor in 10 years. It's all edge-lit LED shit these days.
Most TVs are back lit.
Who is she
My Thinkpad has a CCFL backlit screen. It's shit and I will swap for a FHD screen which already has LEDs.

That's because it's an enterprise laptop, and enterprise laptops almost always have utter dogshit displays.
I have an anchient 2009 HP media laptop that also has a CCFL, but it's also using an IPS panel and a quite a decent one for its age. Contrast is little lacking vs modern IPS panels tho (but far better than my 2015 TN laptop)
anyone have experience with 19 inch iiyama vision master pros? im picking one up tomorrow, what should i expect from it?
There's quite a lot of 19" iiyamas, some of them are OEM-tier SM garbage and then there's ridiculous stuff like the 130khz VMP 454 with a HB Diamondtron tube. What exact model did you get?
The brand is notable for making the fastest ever 19" and 20"+ CRT monitors, but their build quality is also always been questionable.

Lol what? It's literally the pro display option in it.
And it's still shit? Isn't that in favor of my point?
