We've gotten to a point where Android (implying Android 12) is locked-down almost as bad as iOS, but mobile GNU/Linux is neither usable nor widespread. Sad! I really hoped that usable mobile GNU/Linux would arrive faster.
Also, Android on tablets sucks as much as in 2010.

Guess I'll use my Android 11 (LineageOS 18.1) phone a few more years and then switch to GNU/Linux phone.

In what way do you think Android 12 is more locked-down than Android 11 and even similar to iOS?
A12 even lets third party app stores update on their own.

Off topic, does anyone have an idea about why my media control buttons are not visible in the notification? I should have never updated from 12.

Locked how?

Locked in every way imaginable.

That's really vague, you probably have no idea what you're talking about

get a better phone

I am an intellectual with an IQ of over 140. I fully understood the ending of Evangelion 3.0+1.0.

>I fully understood the ending of Evangelion 3.0+1.0.
Bloody Hell, go ahead then and tell us!

You wouldn't understand, so why even bother?

>mobile GNU/Linux is neither usable nor widespread
SailfishOS and Ubuntu Touch have been usable for almost a decade now. They just lack market share.

>adb reboot bootloader
>fastboot oem unlock
>fastboot reboot
>adb install magisk.apk
>(magisk > make patched_boot.img)
>(reboot)
>fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
>fastboot reboot
And now you can do whatever the fuck you want.
This procedure hasn't changed for years now.

>touch grass

>Cucked beyond recognition.
it provides root management and that's what it matters

>Android 12
Android used to be a tinkerer's OS. Now it's a cuck's OS.

agreed. android 13 apparently unlocks kvm layer 2, so you can run linux or win11 vms with near native performance (minus the android overhead)

you can already run normal linux with native performance
mount an img and chroot to it

kek I'm still on marshmallow

works for me

not without root, and most phones cant be rooted
